About
On June 18, 1976, the Third Street swing bridge connecting the East and West sides of Bay City, Michigan, collapsed, leaving commuters stranded. As an important part of Bay City history, Third Street continues to honor the past while looking toward the future. The Third Street Star Bridge was first established in 2016 by Golden Gallery owner Avram Golden, thinking about the light of his own life, his brother Ari. Each light represents those who are a light in our lives, matched with a commemorative plaque on the street below. The Third Street Star Bridge has since created an outdoor environment drawing residents to Downtown Bay City. This beautiful project keeps the lights of our life alive and supports public art in our community. We are proud to illuminate love, life, and art in our beautiful city by the bay.
